The Boy on the Rocket explores childhood ambition, imagination and the desire to reach beyond one’s circumstances. A young Black boy sits upon an improvised rocket beneath a red crescent moon, holding a luminous object close to his chest. Surrounded by darkness, the figure becomes a symbol of hope and possibility — suggesting that sometimes imagination is the first vehicle through which we escape limitation and move towards who we want to become.
